This is a log for significant changes to the sites structure and functionality.

There are several reasons for this:

  • Self-Tracking: Helps me document updates and remember past changes, besides my internal project management.
  • Transparency for Readers: Visitors can see what changed and how it might affect navigation or content.
  • Technical Reference: If issues arise after an update, I can trace back to specific changes.
  • Site Evolution: A historical overview of how the site has changed over time.

A log of significant changes to SohoLab's structure, content, and functionality. This serves as a reference for tracking the site's evolution, tracing changes if issues arise, and providing transparency for readers.

Work Timeline

  • 2026-05
    • Site created by duplicating CONRAM.IT in Publii and pruning to homelab-focused content.
    • Custom header implemented with SohoLab logo, title, and subtitle, replacing Simple theme's built-in logo and hero.
    • Navbar height variable overridden to eliminate excess vertical space after hiding the built-in logo.
    • Simple theme's native navbar re-enabled after an earlier experiment with a fully custom menu was abandoned due to submenu and mobile behaviour issues.
    • Navigation restructured: About and CV & Résumé now link to CONRAM.IT instead of maintaining local copies.
    • Content audit completed. Articles not related to the home-lab (career reflections, gaming, general IT commentary, CMS overview) removed and retained on CONRAM.IT only.
    • Articles retained on SohoLab: The SohoLab #1, Gjallarform, A Firewall Journey, Installing LSI/Avago MegaRAID, Digitus Label Template, SFTP with Installatron and Bitvise.
    • Custom four-column footer implemented, replacing Simple's default footer. Responsive layout: four columns on desktop, two on tablet, one on mobile.
    • Legal pages (Terms of Use, Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy) link to CONRAM.IT's shared versions. SohoLab-specific Terms of Use page created with technology acknowledgements and technical content disclaimers.
    • "About This Site" page created describing the site's purpose, technical implementation, and content scope.
    • Web Presence section planned to replace the former Web Projects page with an expanded portfolio including all hosted sites.
    • SohoLab link added to CONRAM.IT root navigation (rightmost position, after About).
    • CONRAM.IT backlink added to SohoLab navigation.
    • Site remains in staging (noindex, nofollow) during initial buildout.
